Our mission isn't just about making IT simple for customers, we also want to make it simple for professionals. We are always looking for new people from all around the country to join our team of support technicians, and we don't mind how much or how little experience you may have, as we provide our own brand of training to make sure you're completely comfortable with the role.
When we created our support technician role, we spent a lot of time thinking about how we'd like it to be structured if we were applying for it ourselves. Some of the things we thought we'd like were:
- Being able to choose our own hours
- Being given career guidance from people who have outstanding experience of the IT industry
- Being given training to help us achieve our career goals
- Being our own boss
- Having our performance recognised and rewarded
- Getting help and support whenever we needed it
With those ideas in our head, we came up with The Puzzle Technician Programme. Here's how it works....
After completing the first stage of the application process, we'll take you for a cup of tea to get to know you a bit. We'll find out what it is you want to achieve and get an understanding of what you're good at already, and what we need to help you with. We then come up with a training course which will get you ready to be a Puzzle Technician. The training can range from a week to a month depending on your experience level, and once you've completed it all you'll be ready to help your first customer. You can then register as a Puzzle Technician for your area.
What next?
Puzzle Technicians are self-employed, you work for yourself, you choose your own hours and you only do the work that you want to do. Puzzle-IT fit in by supporting you in a number of critical ways, allowing you to concentrate on the IT problem solving skills we helped you hone.
Finding you work
As a Puzzle technician, all you have to do is let our lovely booking team know what dates and times you'll be available, and they'll find work for you and book you out for customer visits. You work completely for yourself, you choose your own hours, and keep all money your customers pay you. And you never have to worry about advertising costs or marketing strategies, as we handle all of that for you.
Support & reward
Puzzle technicians don't just get sent out to do the work on their own, you'll be supported and rewarded every step of the way. We have a dedicated technical support team who you can phone for help if you're ever with a customer and you're not sure what to do. We will meet with you regularly to find out how things are going with you, and see if we can do anything more to help you. We also offer bonuses and prizes for a whole range of things, like receiving excellent customer feedback or gaining key qualifications. We make sure you are part of our team, whilst giving you the freedom and responsibility that comes with working for yourself.
Career guidance
We want all our technicians to be getting exactly what they want from their careers. We'll meet with you regularly to discuss where you want to go, give guidance and advice on how to get there, and offer the right training to help you achieve everything you want to achieve.
